This fabulously designed babywearing coat solves the problem of how to wear the baby in inclement weather. For ultimate versatility, Suse's Kindercoat is composed of two zipped-together layers, each of which can be worn independently, while the wearer carries baby (or babies) on front and/or back. In a stroke of pure genius the design uses a large back opening (easy to get over baby's big head) which tightens from the front with drawstrings to keep baby snug.
The water-resistant outer layer has hoods for parent and child as well as plenty of pockets---super-practical for protection from water and wind. The inner fleece layer is soft and cozy-warm. Each of the two layers will serve you well in moderate temperatures, and then together they will take you through the winter. (If you live in a year-round mild, rainy climate then check out Suse's Babywearing Rainponcho.) Suse's babywearing Kindercoat comes with three zip-in panels for front wearing: one for each layer, and a third double-layered panel for use with the full two-layered coat. No panel is needed for back wearing.
The newest model of Suse's Kindercoat has two new features: a two-way zipper on the front and underarm vents. All of our Kindercoats have these features except the black/tan ones in sizes S and L.
Compared to other babywearing coats we have tried, Suse's Kindercoat is easier to use (particularly on the back), more practical, and more versatile. We have even found the simultaneous front- and back-carrying capability useful in several "babywearing emergencies" that have come up for us. Best of all, this coat works perfectly over any of the baby carriers we sell. |
